KBSV collaborates with the Vietnam Association of Securities Businesses to launch ESG Score Pilot Project in the Securities Industry
In recent years, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives have become an integral part of the strategic business plan of financial institutions in Vietnam and globally. However, measuring and reliably reporting ESG data is a significant challenge for publicly listed companies in the stock market in general, and financial institutions in particular.
To address the issue of determining ESG metrics for listed companies, strengthen investor confidence, and contribute to the overall development of the stock market, KB Securities Vietnam Joint Stock Company (KBSV) collaborates with the Vietnam Association of Securities Businesses (VASB) to organize a seminar titled "Sustainable Development, ESG Disclosure for Securities Companies" held at the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) on May 9th,2024.
At the event, Mrs. Hoang Hai Anh, Vice Chairwoman and General Secretary of VASB, shared: "For the pilot ESG Score project, VASB has chosen the securities industry, specifically the member securities companies of VASB. There are several reasons for this decision: Firstly, these are all members operating within the Association. Secondly, calculating ESG in the securities sector is considered simpler, specifically in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. Thirdly, the Association wishes for securities firms to pioneer in understanding ESG calculations so that members can advise and broker for their listed company clients. Additionally, VASB is ready to support securities companies if their clients need to use the ESG Score".
